Liam Neeson has made his Naked Gun debut in a new teaser trailer. You can check it out below.
The Taken star takes over from comedy legend Leslie Nielson, who had starred as the bungling Lt Frank Drebin in the 1982 series, Police Squad!, as well as films, The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988), The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (1991), and Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult (1994).
The reboot which stars Neeson, has been described as "the single most important Naked Gun movie since the other Naked Gun movies".
Cleverly referring to Neeson's iconic role in Taken, Paramount Pictures had this to say about the Naked Gun reboot: "Only one man has the particular set of skills... to lead Police Squad and save the world!".
They added: "Lt Frank Drebin Jr (Liam Neeson) follows in his father's footsteps in The Naked Gun, directed by Akiva Schaffer (Saturday Night Live, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping) and from producer Seth MacFarlane (Ted, Family Guy)".
"Joining the case are cast Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, [and] Eddie Yu, with Danny Huston".
The Naked Gun reboot will hit cinema screens on August 8.
