Willow and Upstairs Downstairs star Jean Marsh, has died aged 90, it was confirmed.
This was announced by Marsh's friend and director Michael Lindsay Hogg who revealed that the late actress died from complications around dementia.
“Jean died peacefully in bed looked after by one of her very loving carers,” Lindsay-Hogg said. “You could say we were very close for 60 years. She was as wise and funny as anyone I ever met, as well as being very pretty and kind, and talented as both an actress and writer".
“An instinctively empathetic person who was loved by everyone who met her. We spoke on the phone almost every day for the past 40 years".
Jean Marsh is renowned for co creating and starring in UK TV series, Upstairs Downstairs, depicting the lives of servants and masters in an early 20th century house in London, where Marsh starred as maid Rose Buck in the show.

She later reprised her role for the revival between 2010 and 2012, alongside co creator Eileen Atkins, as well as new additions, Keeley Hawes and Claire Foy.
