Taylor Swift Thanks Travis Kelce And Urges Fans To Vote In US Election During MTV VMAs Speech

At last night's Video Music Awards ceremony, Taylor Swift dominated after wining seven accolades.

The popstar's trophy haul saw her win the night's biggest award, scooping up the gong for video of the year.

In her speech, 'Anti-Hero' singer Swift thanked her NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce for his role on the Fortnight music video and for his support on the night. The mention of Travis' name with a huge round of applause.

"Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic", Swift told the audience.

Following this, Swift quickly turned her attention to the US Presidential election, where she called on her fans who are over 18 to vote, without mentioning Vice President Kamala Harris, who she endorsed on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, Swift also paid tribute to everyone who lost their lives and loved ones in 9/11.

“I’ve just been thinking about what happened 23 years ago, everyone who lost a loved one and everyone that we lost and that is the most important thing about today," she said. “And everything that happens tonight falls behind that". 

On the night, Taylor Swift and Post Malone also scooped up the award for best collaboration with Fortnight. 

Heaping the praise on Post Malone, Taylor Swift also told the audience in her speech: “There is a reason Post Malone is everyone in music’s favourite person to collaborate with. It has taken forever for me to get him to stop calling me ma’am". 

Taylor Swift's trophy haul of seven award wins sees her tied with Beyoncé for the title of most-decorated musician in VMA history. Both artists currently stand on their own with 30 career wins. Eminem has the most wins in the male artist category with 14.
